Who We Are
The Waitara Volunteer Fire Brigade is a dedicated team of community volunteers committed to protecting lives, property, and the environment in Waitara and surrounding areas. Located at 46 Grey Street, Waitara, we are part of Fire and Emergency New Zealand's network of volunteer fire stations.
Our brigade consists of trained volunteers who respond to emergencies 24/7, providing critical services to our community. We operate as a volunteer station, meaning all our members give their time freely to serve and protect their neighbors.
Our Services
Fire Response
Rapid response to structural fires, vehicle fires, and bush fires throughout the Waitara area.
Medical Emergencies
First aid and medical assistance at emergency scenes, supporting ambulance services.
Motor Vehicle Accidents
Emergency response to road accidents.
Search & Rescue
Search and rescue operations for missing persons in urban and rural settings.
Civil Defense
Response to natural disasters including floods, storms, and other emergency situations.
Fire Safety Education
Community education programs on fire prevention, safety, and emergency preparedness.
